How to Care for Your Jewelry
What to Avoid:
·Put your jewelry on at the end of your morning routine. The exposure to the chemicals in lotions, perfume, hairspray, makeup and sunscreen can damage or discolor precious metals and may harm some colored gems.
·We recommend that you remove your jewelry before swimming in chlorine or saltwater and before exercising, heavy lifting, gardening or messy cooking. Avoid wearing when using household cleaners.
·Avoid storing your jewelry in humid, damp areas or in direct sunlight, as it will speed up the tarnishing process.
·When jewelry isn’t being worn, or when traveling, place it in a jewelry box for safe-keeping.
How to Clean:
·Gently wash your jewelry with warm water and mild soap in a small bowl. Pat dry with a soft cloth. Place jewelry in box for safekeeping.
·For a high polish, use your complimentary Sunshine®Cloth. Rub surface to be polished with medium pressure. Special polishing and cleansing action works until cloth is completely darkened. Do not wash cloth. Additional cloths may be purchased.
·Do not use any sponges or abrasives to clean your jewelry.
·Be careful cleaning near stones, chains, and ear-wires. Some gemstones are very soft and tend to scratch or react with water/heat, so do your research before you clean your gemstone piece. If you have any questions about cleaning your piece, please don’t hesitate to contact the studio.
·Avoid all ultrasonic cleaners or chemical cleaning agents(even jewelry specific)as they may discolor metals or damage stones.
·When in doubt bring your jewelry in for a complimentary cleaning.
The best way to keep your jewelry tarnish-free is by wearing it!
